Stepping Out in Faith

Where no oxen are, the trough is clean; but much increase comes by the strength of an ox. Proverbs 14:4

Solomon says a person may boast of owning the cleanest stable, but this could also imply laziness because when work ensues, a stable becomes messy. A person may think twice about stepping out in faith as they wouldn’t want to fail, but if they don’t step out at all, they won’t succeed at anything. If you show me someone who has never attempted anything for the Lord and failed, I can show you that same person has never accomplished anything. Stepping out in faith may get a little untidy, but there will be something good that comes from doing something.

Many Christians today have “clean stables” with no profit. They don’t want to get involved, lest they feel uncomfortable as God stretches their faith. But we grow by stretching. It’s time to hitch the oxen, so to speak, and get to work for the Kingdom of God, while we still have time. Don’t be afraid to step out in faith and see what the Lord might accomplish through you. If you fail, just get back up and try again.
