The Greatest Demonstration of Love

“The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you”

Dear Church Family,

The first American Valentine was published in 1849. It’s estimated that, excluding kids’ valentines exchanged in schools, some 145 million Valentine’s Day cards are sent each year on February 14.

Many will go to great lengths to demonstrate love. However, the Bible gives us the greatest demonstration of love the world has ever known. “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).

God loved us so much He sent His only Son Jesus to take our place on the cross. There is nothing we can do to make God love us more than He does at this moment. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear”(1 John 4:18).
