Konichiwa! Selamat Pagi! Kumasta! From your Calvary South OC Missionaries! We want to start off by thanking you, Church, for sending us! Thank you for your continued partnership in the gospel, through both prayers and financial support. We had the blessing to be in three countries together- Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It is because of you all that this trip was possible for the both of us, and we are eternally grateful.
South Asia
Macey had the privilege of spending three months in a South Asian country (for security reasons, the location will not be mentioned). She is blessed to have had the chance to experience what living in this place is actually like, as well as taking part in the work the Lord is doing there by helping with outreach, discipling young women, teaching English, and more. This is one of the most unreached countries in the world and her heart has become so burdened for the need of the Gospel to be taken throughout this region. She met and connected with a handful of passionate believers who all have incredible testimonies. Some were born into Hinduism and have been brought out of darkness and into the light by experiencing the love and peace found only in Jesus Christ. This is the hope and prayer for the rest of those who have not yet heard the Message.

Tokyo and Osaka, Japan
We spent lots of time in prayer for Japan as we saw and experienced the deep needs of the people. Another exciting aspect of this part of our mission trip was accompanying a couple on our team as they took a step of faith and moved to this country. We are excited for what the future holds for Japan and grateful we got to witness God’s hand moving throughout two of the biggest cities in the world!
Bali and East Java, Indonesia
Macey and a group of her friends had been praying for the country of Indonesia and their needs for over a year. She never imagined that within a year He would open the door for her to go on a vision tour there. All glory to Him! Mayra had the opportunity to share her testimony with the church during a Sunday service. We were also encouraged to hear many testimonies of Hindus forsaking all their idols to seek after the One True God. During this time, we also had the blessing of baptizing two couples from a Hindu background who completely surrendered their life to Jesus Christ! Praise God!
Tagaytay, Philippines
We visited a Calvary Bible Institute in Tagaytay for a three-day conference on the Purpose of the Church. We were reminded that in the first century there were 12 unreached people groups to one church. Today, there are about 1,000 churches to one Unreached People group! Indeed, it is a doable task, and let’s just say the Filipino church is on fire for reaching the nations with the Gospel! We also had the opportunity to visit a village that recently heard the gospel for the very first time! Here, Macey led the kids in worship songs and games, and Mayra shared about sin and repentance. The Philippines is in a strategic location to go out and reach the most unreached people in Asia!
The Middle East
The last country Macey visited during her 5 months overseas is another undisclosed location within the Middle East. It was definitely a sobering way to end this season. In this country, there is spiritual oppression and a heart wrenching reality that millions of people are chained to Islam and false worship of Allah. But Macey is so thankful for the chance to have visited her friends who recently moved to this place. They have hopes of starting a new work, as the Lord leads, and are currently in the process of learning Arabic. It was really sweet to spend time with them, encourage them, and learn from their experiences.
Macey’s Next Steps
Macey has now come back to America to visit family and friends. She has felt such a warm welcome and that is a big blessing in her life. She is excited for what’s to come in the future as God has been so faithful to open and close doors, leading and guiding her in His perfect will. She will be in the States for about 2 more months with plans to head to Mexico this summer to serve with the Calvary School of Missions. Then, Lord willing, she will be returning to South Asia for 5-6 more months, praying about what doors the Lord might open for her to go there long term. Please pray that the Lord would continue to put all the pieces together and work out every detail of the vision and desires He has placed in her heart. Praise God for His constant faithfulness through the 5 months she was overseas. Praise Him for what He is doing globally and how He is using His children to reach even the hardest and “least of these.”
Mayra’s Next Steps
For now, Mayra’s goal is to finish the semester at Missions Training School, which ends in August. Mayra will continue to be faithful with what He has placed in front of her and it is truly by His grace that she is here. That perfect grace is called debt. Once that is paid off, Mayra’s next step will be to return to Japan for 3-5 months, Lord willingly, before making the decision to move somewhere full-time. As most of you may know, Mayra’s desire since the beginning has been to go to the Middle East. You might be asking yourself- why Japan? She asks herself the same question as well. They're both completely opposite yet with one similarity- they are both UNREACHED. They both desperately need the Gospel. Because of this, she is also planning to visit the Middle East at the end of this year to seek the Lord's will. She will continue to surrender it all to Him and trust in His good and perfect will and timing!
Prayer requests
Please join Macey in prayer for the needs of the South Asia area; for protection and strength for the believers, that the Gospel would spread, and that the Lord would open the doors for me to go there long-term.
Please join Macey and Mayra in lifting up the countries of Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Middle East region; that the Lord would send out more laborers into these harvest fields and that He would break the spiritual chains they are in.
Please pray for Macey, that the couple months she has back in the US would be fruitful, refreshing, and that she would be able to connect with as much family and friends as possible.
Please join Macey in praying for the Calvary School of Missions taking place in Mexico this summer; that the Lord would stir and work in the hearts of the students, that He would prepare her for the role of financial directing, and that every detail would all be glorifying Him!
Please join Mayra in praying for Japan- for next steps and possibly visiting again for 3-5 months.
Please join Mayra in praying for the Middle East- for everything that is currently happening there. As well as for the upcoming trip towards the end of this year! So excited!
