Following the Lord Overseas

Below is an overview of Macey’s testimony, call to missions, and her future plans as the Lord guides her in missionary opportunities.

Macey’s Testimony and Call to Missions

Hello, my name is Macey. I was raised in a church going family, but never had a strong knowledge of the Bible. I wanted to follow Jesus and have Him in my life from a young age, though I didn’t fully understand what that meant. This led me to get baptized around 8 years old, though it wasn’t until 18 when I fully surrendered to Christ as He got ahold of my heart through a couple different ways. This eventually led me to attend the Calvary Bible Institute in 2021 with a desire to gain a greater foundation in the Word of God, grow in evangelism, and seek the Lord on where and how He would have me to serve Him. While at CBI, pastors from Calvary Chapel Saving Grace came to teach “The Purpose of the Church” class and this is where I was first exposed to the 10/40 window and the unreached people groups. Did you know that over 3 billion people have still never heard about Jesus, have no church in their community, and have no Bible in their language. God really spoke to my heart through scripture, stories told, and the reality of the needs of this world to tell me that He has called me to serve Him long-term, overseas in this way.

Training

From there, I spent 6 weeks of summer 2022 in Mexico with the same church as they lead the Calvary School of Missions. We had classes through the book of Acts, on culture and religion, and with missionaries who serve all over the world. We also got the opportunity to partner with the Calvary Chapel church plants throughout Mexico to do outreach at their churches, local parks, and around the communities. That summer, no doubt, was a life changing experience as I got to see the Lord working in the hearts and lives of the Mexican believers and unbelievers, as well as in us students. My heart only grew more and more for this world and the lost and broken souls who do not have the hope of the Gospel. After that summer, since fall 2022, I have been apart of the Saving Grace World Missions Training School to prepare and get equipped for long-term missions in the 10/40 window. I was able to go back to Mexico as part of the leadership of the Calvary School of Missions this past summer. I served as one the Children’s Ministry Outreach Directors. It was such a blessing to see everything come together as the students took the lead on the crafts, worship, Bible skits, lessons, and more.

Kuaré Tribe Outreach

While in Mexico, we also had the opportunity to travel 10 hours up the mountains of Nayarit to spend a few days amongst the Kuaré Tribe. One of the Calvary Chapel’s have been working to create relationships and reach this unreached tribe. They are also working on translating the Bible into Kuaré. We went from house to house passing out clothes, medical supplies, and praying with each family. We got the blessing of being apart of their first ever church service in that tribe and language. Praise God that a few have come to Christ and now our prayer is that the Lord would sent a couple to live there long-term and disciple the people. We also hope to see God raise up a pastor that can plant a church in the village. Please pray for the Kuaré people!

Upcoming Plans

Moving forward, I will be spending about 5 months overseas from October 2023 to March 2024 doing training, serving, and scouting in a few different countries in Asia. I will be in South Asia for 3 months with a family serving at the church, discipling the women, doing events with the youth, and teaching English. I will also be in Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East doing visions/scouting tours, visiting different churches, and serving in the communities; all the while praying and seeking the Lord as to where He would have me to live and serve Him full-time.

I would like to leave you with an encouragement and a thank you because the truth is as followers of Christ, we are all called to Great Commission work and the furtherance of God’s kingdom no matter what country you are in and whether you are sending/supporting others or you are on the field yourself. From Genesis to Revelation we see that God’s heart is for all the nations and we know that He sent His Son to die for the whole world. Please pray with me on how we can be greater vessels for His glory and take part in His global work. I also want to thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your interest in what the Lord is doing in my life and around the world. I would love for you to continue to come along this journey with me by joining my monthly newsletter. Also, please feel free to reach out if you would like to get in contact with me.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray that God would send more laborers into His harvest field and that they would heed the call

  • Pray for the missionaries in the 10/40 window that the Lord would continue to protect them and use them to make His name known amidst the darkest places

  • Pray for the Christians living in persecuted countries; for safety, strength, and encouragement in their faith

  • Pray for revival amongst the American and Mexican church, that the Holy Spirit would stir up people and that they would be serious about following Jesus, obeying His Word, and being about their Father’s business.

  • Pray for the Kuaré Tribe and the work that the Lord is doing in this community, that they would not worship creation, but the Creator. Please pray that someone would have a heart to live amongst these people, minister to their needs, and teach them the Word of God. Please also pray for the Bible being translated into Kuaré and that a church would eventually be planted in the tribe.

  • Pray for my upcoming time overseas; that the Lord would work in and through me, that I would be a blessing to all I come in contact with, and that He would speak to me as to which country He would have me serve Him in.

  • Pray with me on how we can be greater vessels for His glory and take part in His global work.
