Pankaj and Tonielle Sarkar

The Sarkar’s live and serve in Kathmandu, Nepal, with their three children: Levi, Eden, and Abigail. Pankaj is originally from India, but has been living and serving in Nepal since 1996. Tonielle is from Orange County, California, and first traveled to Nepal in 2006. The two met during Tonielle’s first mission trip to Nepal, married in 2011, spent two years in the United States, and then moved back to Nepal in 2013. 

Pankaj serves as lead pastor at Calvary Chapel Kathmandu, and is the founder/director of Salvation Worship Ministries, an evangelical, multi-denominational ministry focused on discipling, training, and equipping believers in the area of worship and in teaching the Word of God. In addition to pastoring the church and leading the worship ministry, he teaches and serves on the board of Calvary Chapel Bible College, which he helped establish. The newest ministry Pankaj has helped start and is involved with is a mobile pastoral training program that travels throughout Nepal to equip pastors in different villages.

With their kids now in school, Tonielle has more opportunities for ministry outside the home. She serves as the liaison between the American and Nepali ministries they’re involved with and assists with administrative work for the School of Worship and Salvation Worship Ministries. Additionally, she helps oversee a Mommy and Me group for both foreign missionaries and nationals in the area and co-leads a biweekly women’s Bible study with a friend of hers.

The Sarkar family continually express their gratitude for the opportunity to share about their family, the ministries God has entrusted them with, and for the ability to partner in His work. Despite the “anti-conversion” law and restrictions on proselytizing, God is moving, the Gospel continues to spread, and lives are being transformed. Please join us in lifting up the country of Nepal and their personal/ministry needs.

  • Abigail has had no further health issues and no more infantile spasms.

  • For the School of Worship students to continue having an excitement to learn and finish strong.

    That new converts at the church would grow more in love with God and His Word.

  • Please pray God will continue to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of our family.

  • For protection over everyone serving alongside us.
