Missionary of the Month - December

Our Missionaries of the Month for December are Pastor Cal and Jess Stuebner from Nicaragua. This month, we are glad to be able to share updates from them about the work the Lord is doing in Nicaragua and how we can be lifting them up in prayer. Calvary Chapel Managua

Calvary Chapel Managua is a neighborhood church in a very poor area of the capitol city of Nicaragua. Pastor Cal has been serving as co-pastor, helping in administration, teaching occasionally, and working with the construction/remodeling projects at the church. We have a primary school of grades K - 3rd grade where the parents pay about half of the operating costs. We would like to add on other grades as the Lord allows. We have a growing youth group as well as small groups for men and women.

Prayer requests:

  • Please pray for us to continue to have grace with the local government.

  • Please pray for our young leaders who are teaching the youth.

  • Please pray for more people to serve in the worship ministry.

  • Please pray for us to be able to hire a new school principal next school year.

Nicaragua Christian Academy International

Jessica teaches High School science from a Biblical perspective at an international Christian school accredited in both Nicaragua and the US.  It was originally founded to service children from missionary families but has since broadened its scope to include children from Nicaraguan families. As part of her work, she also helps with the school's youth groups, chapel small groups, Bible studies, and other ministries.

Prayer requests:

  • Please pray for more teachers at Jessica's as they are understaffed and this adds stress to all the missionaries who serve as teachers.

  • Please pray for Jessica's health as she still struggles with side affects from a brief battle with early stage cancer.

  • Please pray for unsaved family members in both our families.

  • Please pray for Cal since his mother is considering moving from California to New Mexico. This might mean extra trips to the States in the near future.
