Be In Prayer

Dear Church Family,

Jesus said, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places” (Matthew 24:6-7).

This week, we saw Russia invade the Ukraine. The footage of the damage is overwhelming. We see families caught in the cross hairs of war running for their lives. There is a very strong population of Christians inside the Ukraine. I saw a clip of many of them sheltering inside a subway station in Kiev, singing worship songs to the Lord while under attack. We feel powerless to do anything, and yet we can pray. Our hearts go out to the people of the Ukraine that God would grant them mercy and help in their time of need.

It seems the entire world is in upheaval, and we are getting closer to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. My brothers and sisters, this is the time to be in prayer, fellowship, and the Word of God. In the gospel of Luke, Jesus said, “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (21:28).

In Christ Alone,
