Missionary of the Month - December

Our featured missionary for the month of December is Rajiv K.C., who is serving the Lord at a Calvary Chapel in Kathmandu, Nepal. Here is an overview of his missionary work in the various ministries he is a part of, as well as the prayer requests he shared with us:

Teaching God’s word and discipleship is what I love to do. My wife and I are praying to be more humble and faithful to be used by God in people’s lives through various opportunities. We want to invest in teaching God’s word and God’s people.

We are very thankful to our God for His grace and mercy in our lives. Thank you Calvary South OC family for your love, prayers, and support. We are blessed and thankful for the prayers and support for our wedding. God has blessed me with my beautiful wife who loves the Lord and is ready to serve alongside me.

One 2 One Coffee Shop: One to One coffee shop is based on Psalm 121:1-2. God has helped me to open One 2 One coffee shop with lots of prayers and supportive hands. One 2 One coffee shop is a place we opened with a vision of discipleship. It is a business and missionary opportunity that focuses on the gospel and discipleship, as well as providing jobs for the youths and training them. I have two young people who are working at One 2 One. Our target is to reach the community and people who come into the shop with words and work. I desire to train youth in the word of God as well as to encourage them to live as a servant of God by sharing and serving people. It is also a place where different Christian people come to spend time in discipleship. Most of the time my wife and I open the door for youth fellowship. This season we have the world cup so I am planning and praying to open the door for some games to watch at the coffee shop for fellowship and the gospel.

A.I.R. Nepal: Anchored International Relief (A.I.R.) has been involved in Nepal since 2015 when the earthquake happened. I started working with AIR in 2015 in the area called Swara-Gorkha. We invested in relief work but our heart was to share the gospel and discipleship, which we did and are still doing. By the grace of God, we have a very good connection with local leaders there and can invest in them and their people. Our heart is to see more people coming to Christ as well as to disciple them so that they can grow locally and impact globally.

Leprosy Colony: There are 60 houses divided into three colonies, and leper people are living with their struggles each day. Some are believers of Christ, while others are not. I still remember how it was when I was there around 2013. Now more christ-like people have visited, invested, prayed, and preached, and the environment has changed a lot. They have been pushed away from their family, and society. Our love, visit, and care for them has encouraged them in Christ.

Calvary Chapel Kathmandu: God has allowed me to pastor youth and coordinate the worship team at Calvary Chapel Kathmandu. I am ordained and serve on an eldership board of the church. Teaching in some of the main services and mid-week services is also a blessing to me.

Calvary Chapel Bible College Kathmandu: I was a student at calvary chapel bible college in the first phase. As time passed, God opened the door to translate there and slowly, He opened the door to teach there. The Calvary Chapel Bible College's vision is not only to equip academically, but also practically. That's why I love to invest in student's lives through teaching and discipleship.

Pastor and Leadership Training & Inductive Bible Study (IBS) Training: I am humble about how God is using me to pour out God’s word to hungry pastors and leaders from different parts of the country. Our heart is to give the word as it is so that they would stand firm to pass it on to others as it is.

Prayer request:

Please pray for One 2 One coffee shop to grow in business so that we would have more people to reach, we can hire more staff and disciple them.

Pray alongside me and my wife for God’s provision to buy some more furniture for machines and people.

One of the trends as well as the need for the youth to go abroad to study and work is very common. Please pray that God would bring some youths to work there.

We are planning to extend the coffee shop so please keep praying for that too.

Please pray for the discipleship program that we are planning to organize once or twice a year in Gorkha amongst the 10-20 churches.

In 2023 we are going to have a youth camp, please pray for youth, teachers, and a place for it.

Please pray for my dad's salvation.

I am about to complete my Master’s Degree In Divinity at theological seminary. Please pray for the wisdom and strength to complete it.

My wife is teaching Nepali language to missionaries. Please pray for her wisdom and strength.

Please pray for our newly married life as we grow individually and together in God. Also, pray for God to give us a vision of where and how God wants us to serve.
