Understanding the times

Dear Church Family,

With so much information coming so quickly it’s hard to keep up. And with so much misinformation it can be difficult to know what is true of false.  These are the days when we need to be discerning. Jesus said, “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Matt.10:16). The Apostle John reminded his readers, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1John4:1).

There is an obvious agenda that pushes a very narrow perspective without allowing for any critical thinking, even if you disagree agreeably.  Critical thinking is the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment or opinion. The scriptures also mentions a group of individuals that set a good example for us today, “the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do”( 1 Chron.12:32).

We want to be a people who are biblically solid in order to be able to understand the times and know what the Lord would have us to do.

Your Pastor,

John Randall

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, Philippians 1:9-10
