Do Not Wander From The Truth
Dear Church Family,
The Apostle Paul warned Timothy, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
There were those who no longer wanted to hear the truth. They would rather have someone tell them lies or leave out important details. In the face of this growing challenge, the Apostle gave Timothy his marching orders when he wrote, “Preach the word!” (2 Timothy 4:2). Timothy could not allow the distractions of his detractors to keep him from fulfilling his calling.
We are living in similar circumstances today. Our job is to continue to uphold and proclaim the truth of God’s Word regardless of what others may say. We preach Christ and Him crucified even when others want to preach a more palatable message to a culture with itching ears. We deliver the message and then let the Holy Spirit do what only He can accomplish in the lives of the listeners. In a world full of lies do not wander from the truth. Stay the course.
Your Pastor,
John Randall
